A Modern Framework for Your Legacy

A UAE Foundation is a unique legal entity (a body with its own legal standing). It is a cross between a company and a trust. It can hold assets in its own name. That makes it a very flexible tool. It can protect family wealth, support charity work and manage complex investment portfolios.

The Strategic Advantages of a UAE Foundation

A UAE Foundation can hold assets directly, including UAE real estate. It improves succession planning by avoiding complex probate (the court process for an estate). And it has its own corporate legal personality. It is flexible enough to serve charity, keep a family business going, or preserve private wealth for future generations.

A World-Class Regulatory Environment

Foundations in the UAE are governed by well-defined laws in the DIFC, ADGM, and RAK ICC. These jurisdictions give clarity, security and flexibility. They set clear rules for setting up and running a foundation, and for the roles of the Founder, Council Members, and Guardian.

A Meticulous and Compliant Setup

We start with a full meeting to plan the structure of your foundation. We then appoint a registered agent. We draft the Foundation Charter and the confidential By-Laws. We handle the appointment of Council Members and the endowment of assets (moving them into the foundation). The result is a fully compliant and sound registration.

Understanding the Key Distinctions

The biggest difference is that a foundation is a separate legal entity, while a trust is a legal relationship. A foundation owns its assets directly and is governed by a Council. Clients from civil law countries often find it more familiar. It gives a strong and transparent structure.

Frequently asked questions about Company Formation

What is the difference between mainland, free zone and offshore company formation in the UAE?

The main differences are where the company can trade, how it is owned and which authority licenses and regulates it. Mainland entities serve the home market. Free zone entities work within their zone's rules. Offshore companies are most often used for holding and structuring. We look at your activities and suggest the structure that fits.

What documents are required to form a company in the UAE?

The documents you need depend on the licensing authority, the legal form and who the shareholders are. Shareholders who are people and shareholders that are companies need different papers. Some activities call for extra approvals. We prepare the application file and check every document before we file it. We fix gaps that would otherwise delay licensing or, later, opening a bank account.

Can you help with opening a corporate bank account after company setup?

Yes. Opening a bank account is part of our formation work, not an afterthought. Banks look closely at the company's structure, activity and papers. Weak points in the setup often show up at this stage. We prepare the company file and support the compliance side of the application. We deal with the bank's questions as they come up.

Do I need a local sponsor or local service agent to start a business in the UAE?

It depends on the legal form you choose and where the company is licensed. Many structures do not involve one at all. Where a local sponsor or local service agent is part of the setup, we draft and review the arrangement. That way your control, revenue and exit terms are protected in writing.
